Associação fenotípica entre o consumo alimentar residual e o tamanho corporal de touros jovens da raça Nelore

Resumo: This work aims to estimate the phenotypic associations between Residual Feed Intake (RFI), Dry Mattter Intake (DMI) and body size (frame scores) of Nellore young bulls, A reference database of 171 young pure of orign Nelore (PO), participants of feed efficiency tests carried out at the Technological Show of the Experimental Farm Capim Branco of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU). The characteristics of RFI, DMI and hip height were evaluate, and was made CAR classes and other one of DMI classes with 3 levels of stratification for both classes , to evaluate the influence of the classes on the hip height (ALTP) and frame scores by different equations being BIF equation (FR1) and Horimoto equation (FR2) and made correlations between the characteristics. It was observed that the association between CAR and ALTP, FR1 and FR2 was not significant, showing that when selecting for CAR, the frame size of the animals is not altered, since it is an independent characteristic of growth and maturity patterns, and selection for efficient animals using IMS as a criterion may lead to a decrease in ALTP and FR2 methodology.

Utilizou-se banco de dados referente às informações de 171 touros jovens da raça Nelore, puros de origem (PO), participantes de Provas de eficiência alimentar realizadas na Vitrine Tecnológica da fazenda experimental Capim Branco da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU). Foram avaliados CAR e altura do posterior (ALTP) e fez-se classes de CAR e de IMS possuindo 3 níveis de estratificação em ambas as classes, e avaliou-se a influência das classes sobre a altura do posterior (ALTP) e utilização para escore de frame por diferentes equações sendo metodologia de BIF (FR1) e de Horimoto (FR2) e avaliou-se as correlações entre as características.
