Resumo: | This work presents an approach about the behavior of Adjustable Speed Drives (ASDs) during voltage sags and shows a novel structure, named Hybrid Three Phase Rectifier (HTR) connected with Boost Converter, capable of providing an increase of ride-through voltage sags up to 50 % of the ac power supply voltage reduction. This equipment is also able to provide high power factor with low current harmonic distortion. In order to analyze the behavior of the proposed HTR, it was developed a computational model on PSIM® platform, being possible to observe this structure under various types of sags, before. A complete discussion about the power contribution of each rectifier group and its impact over the averall efficiency of the rectifier is presented. In addition, the design procedure of the voltage and current controllers are also presented. In order to achieve this goal, the state-space average technique was used. Corroborating with the exposed theory, a 5 kW prototype was built and analyzed at the laboratory. This was subjected to voltage sags of types A, B and E. The analysis under condition of sags of types C, D, F, and G were performed only by computational simulation due to laboratorial limitations. In all studied cases, it was proved that the proposed solution is effective and can be very attractive for high power applications when compared to other solutions reported in the specialized literature. |
