Resumo: The here present Undegraduate Final Project seeks to illuminate the poetic, philosophic and narrative questions involved in the development of the first chapter of the original comic book Sob a Sétima Colina (Under The Seventh Hill, translated). In the center of this project lies snippets of the philosophies of Friedrich Nietzsche and Albert Camus, mainly concerning the resolution of the existential question. This project considers a pessimistic worldview and its aesthetic implications – discussing elements of Tragedy and The Absurd in both their respective writings. To corroborate the intersection between the ideas of the aforementioned philosophers and the presented comic book, there are made analysis of artists and works of art that influence or inspire its creation, and whose poetics traverse - following the mentioned perspectives – pessimism. Lastly, the narrative of Sob a Sétima Colina is entered, exploring beyond the limits of its first chapter and discussing the process of its production.
