Vários são os fatores neuro¬psicológicos que podem permitir a instalação de doenças. Dentre os agentes etiológicos de infecções em humanos e animais, destaca-se o Toxoplasma gondii, um parasita intracelular-obrigatório, capaz de invadir e replicar em todas as células animais nucleadas, causando a toxoplasmose. A toxoplasmose é uma zoonose que afeta grande parte da população de forma assintomática, sendo particularmente importante a forma congênita e a reativada em indivíduos imunodeprimidos. Este trabalho teve como objetivos observar variações nos níveis de anticorpos anti-T. gondii em animais tratados com haloperidol e ciclofosfamida, bem como verificar possíveis modificações nas taxas de mortalidade e peso corporal. A cinética da produção de anticorpos foi avaliada em ratos não-infectados e em ratos infectados cronicamente, tratados com haloperidol, ciclofosfamida e ciclofosfamida haloperidol.
