Resumo: The guarantee of watertightness in buildings is a long-standing pursuit in civil engineering. This characteristic is normatively confirmed as a mandatory performance requirement in buildings, with defined acceptance criteria. This work presents a study about the mechanisms of water transport in buildings, forms of moisture manifestation, types of waterproofing systems and waterproofing projects. The proposal of the work is to develop a guideline regarding the watertightness, still in the project phase, to verify the attendance or not regarding such strategies, or the necessary actions to allow the carrying out this verification. From the development of the guide, it was applied in a case study, thus seeking to verify its functionality. Such case study was carried out on a project of a high standard residential building. From this study, the functionality of the elaborated product and the possible applications for it were attested. At the end of the work, it is concluded that the elaborated product brings benefits to project managers and that the results obtained are a function of the complementary projects available to the user.

Tal característica se confirma, normativamente, como um requisito de desempenho de caráter obrigatório em edificações, com critérios de aceitação definidos. Este trabalho apresenta um estudo quanto aos mecanismos de transporte de água em edificações, formas de manifestação de umidade, tipos de sistemas de impermeabilização e projetos de impermeabilização. A proposta do trabalho é, a partir deste estudo, o desenvolvimento de um protocolo de verificação quanto a estanqueidade, ainda em fase de projeto, de forma que fosse diagnosticado o atendimento ou não quanto a tais estratégias. Em casos que a verificação não fosse possível, buscou-se levantar as ações necessárias para permitir a realização desta análise. A partir do desenvolvimento do guia com tal função, realizou-se a aplicação do mesmo em estudo de caso, buscando assim a verificação da funcionalidade do mesmo. Desta forma, realizou-se este estudo de caso sobre um projeto de uma edificação residencial de alto padrão. A partir do estudo atestou-se a funcionalidade do produto elaborado e as aplicações possíveis para o mesmo.
