The Glucose Monitoring System (FGMS) (FreeStyle® Libre, Abbott), to facilitate the management and optimization of diabetes mellitus (DM) blood glucose therapy, can fine-tune insulin and sometimes diabetic. This long-term or short-term control for diabetic cats aims to improve the patient's quality of life through the quality of clinical signs, when remission is not possible. The objective of this work was to describe the use of FGMS as an aid in the treatment of a cat with DM. A neutered male feline, of the Sacred of Burma breed with twelve years of age, was exclusively in a private clinic with care for cats, presenting intense prostration. Through anamnesis and in association with the physical examination and the results of the tests performed were clinical suspicion of DM and pancreatitis. Due to the severity of the clinical presentation, the feline was hospitalized and the use of FGMS for monitoring the interstitial concentration initial treatment was initiated in order to direct the treatment. The therapy instituted aimed to control both the clinical picture of DM and pancreatitis. The use of the FGMS was continued after the patient was discharged from hospital, with a total of four months of device use.
