In this work, the theoretical concepts of the existing Digital Television Systems are approached, with focus on the Brazilian Digital Television System (SBTVD or ISDB-TB). Initially, the historical evolution of digital television standards is presented, showing the main characteristics of the American, European, Japanese, and, finally, Brazilian standards. The Brazilian digital television system is based on the Japanese television system, and it is the first digital high definition system in the country. The ISDB-TB Brazilian system transmitter consists of three macroblocks: remultiplexer, channel encoder and modulator. The receiver is composed of the tuner, demodulator, decoder and demultiplexer. An individual approach is made to the main transmitter blocks and the One-Seg receiver, specifying their functions and their operation. Subsequently, the main problems that affect the reception of digital terrestrial television signal, the quality measures used to analyze and compare the signals, and the concepts related to Software Defined Radio (SDR) are presented. Finally, a practical study is made, in which the USRP (Universal Software Radio Peripheral) is used to obtain digital terrestrial television signals in the city of Patos de Minas. Through the concepts discussed in this work, it is possible to analyze the results obtained, making a detailed analysis and comparing the signs found.
