“Breath” sites are becoming increasingly necessary amid urban chaos, as they reflect the need for quality of life in the face of a gradually growing and agitated society. The notion of belonging and insertion of the population in the city ponders in a direct way the urgency of free spaces, of aptitude, in order to establish relaxing activities, in the face of human stress and impatience in front of the problems that urban issues bring to the surface. In view of this, this work proposes the requalification of the Square of the Republic of the City of Itumbiara, in the state of Goiás. The premise of this study is due to the fact that the space has presented several designs over the years, and yet does not correspond significantly to the needs of the population. In this way, it is opportune to look back at the human scale and understand through architectural, urban and landscape references, how the construction of public spaces can actively influence the generation of a quality life. Therefore, the intention of rescuing the different landscape fragments is highlighted, in order to understand the importance of this environment for the formation of the city.
