Nesse sentido, através da análise das obras Apresentação do Teatro Brasileiro Moderno, Teatro em Progresso, Exercício Findo (correspondente às publicações de suas críticas teatrais no jornal O Estado de São Paulo) e O Teatro Brasileiro Moderno (texto historiográfico), procuramos estabelecer as nuances interpretativas que nos possibilitaram compreender as transformações de posicionamento existentes nessas duas formas discursivas. O objetivo central foi, sobretudo, perceber como os textos de Décio de Almeida Prado foram fundamentais no estabelecimento de uma hierarquia estética para as produções nacionais, delimitando, dessa maneira, uma organização que norteou a escrita de uma história do teatro nacional. E, por fim, estabelecemos em que medida a transição do discurso da crítica para o discurso historiográfico possibilitou o deslocamento de temas e ideias realizou o processo transformação das interpretações sobre a modernização do teatro nacional. Essa transição, portanto, foi responsável pelo estabelecendo de rupturas, legitimações e ressignificações das posturas de Décio de Almeida Prado na determinação de uma história para o teatro moderno no Brasil.The present work intends to investigate the intellectual production Décio de Almeida Prado for the establishment of the relations between his theatrical critiques and his historiographic texts through a central theme in the documentation by us listed: modernity in Brazilian theater. In this sense, through the analysis of the works Presenting the Modern Brazilian Theater, Theater in Progress, Findo Exercise (corresponding to the publications of his theatrical critiques in the newspaper O Estado de São Paulo) and The Modern Brazilian Theater (historiographical text), we try to establish the nuances Interpretations that enabled us to understand the positional transformations existing in these two discursive forms. The main objective was to understand how the texts of Décio de Almeida Prado were fundamental in establishing an aesthetic hierarchy for national productions, thus delimiting an organization that guided the writing of a history of national theater. And, finally, we establish to what extent the transition from the discourse of the critique to the discourse historiográfico made possible the displacement of themes and ideas carried out the process of transformation of the interpretations on the modernization of the national theater.
