Resumo: The assessment of soil physical quality has been carried through of soil quality attributes or index, often determined for methods that need of high time, high cost and/or hard work, whereas a soil air permeability is a fast and lowest cost method. The aim of work was to characterize the facility in transport air of Latossolo and Planossolo, in Guanambi region, by means of soil air permeability. The design statistic was completely randomized, with four treatments (T1 e T2 – air permeability of Latossolo in the depth of 0.1 and 0.2 m, respectively, and T3 e T4 – air permeability of Planossolo in the depth of 0.1 and 0.2 m, respectively) and 10 repetitions. The Latossolo air permeability was higher that the Planossolo, on two depth evaluate.

The Latossolo air permeability was higher that the Planossolo, on two depth evaluate.A avaliação da qualidade física do solo tem sido realizada por meio de índices de qualidade do solo, os quais são determinados, muitas vezes, por método que necessita de elevado tempo, alto custo e/ou muito laborioso, enquanto a permeabilidade intrínseca do solo ao ar é rápida e de baixo custo. Dessa maneira, o objetivo do trabalho foi caracterizar a facilidade de um Latossolo Vermelho Amarelo e um Planossolo Háplico, da região de Guanambi, em transportar ar, por meio da permeabilidade dos solos ao ar. O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente aleatorizado, com quatro tratamentos (T1 e T2 – Permeabilidade ao ar do Latossolo Vermelho Amarelo nas profundidades de 0,1 e 0,2 m, respectivamente, e T3 e T4 – Permeabilidade ao ar do Planossolo Háplico nas profundidades de 0,1 e 0,2 m, respectivamente) e 10 repetições.
