Resumo: | The droplet population on leaf surface during the spray influences control efficacy of phytosanitary problems. Considering the type of treatment and the product to be used, a minimum droplet number per unit surface should be defined. This study was done to evaluate the population characteristics and spectrum of the droplets produced by the air-assisted spray. The following factors were studied: type of nozzle, volume of liquid applied, air assistance and its influence on the percent coverage and density of droplet population. An experiment was set up in a randomized block design with 2 x 2 x 2 factorial with four replications: types of nozzle (hollow cone spray nozzle, Jacto model JA-4, or fan-type nozzle, Jacto model AXI-110-04), liquid volume (200 or 400 L ha-1) and with or without air assistance. The air assistance in the bar increased the droplets density on leaf surface. |

De acordo com o tratamento e o produto a ser aplicado, é possível definir um número mínimo de gotas por unidade de superfície. Este trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar as características das populações e o espectro das gotas produzidas durante a pulverização com assistência de ar. Foram estudados os fatores tipo de ponta, volume de calda aplicado, assistência de ar e sua influência sobre porcentagem de cobertura e densidade da população de gotas. Foi montado um experimento em esquema fatorial 2 x 2 x 2: tipos de ponta (jato cônico vazio, modelo JA-4, marca Jacto, além de pontas de jato leque, modelo AXI-110-04, marca Jacto) volumes de calda (200 L ha-1 e 400 L ha-1) e assistência de ar ligada e desligada. Foi usado o delineamento de blocos ao acaso, com quatro repetições.
