INFLUENCE OF FERTILIZER DEPOSIT DEPTH AND THE SPEED OF A SEEDER ON THE INITIAL STAND ESTABLISHMENT OF BEAN CROP

Resumo: This study was done to evaluate the initial stand establishment of beans (Phaseolus vulgaris, L.) in the no-tillage system. A 4 x2 factorial scheme was used in a randomized block design with four replications. Four displacement speeds and two fertilizer deposition depths were combined. Longitudinal distribution uniformity of seedlings, emergence percentage, emergence velocity index, and mean time for emergence, were evaluated. Maximum percentage of acceptable spacing and least spacing values were obtained at displacement speed of 3 and 6 km h-1. The effect of fertilization depth on mean emergence time was confirmed. The least days for bean emergence were at the lowest fertilizer depth. It was concluded that, under the experimental conditions, the displacement speed for sowing and fertilizer deposition depths influenced establishment of initial bean crop.

Utilizou-se um esquema fatorial 4x2, no delineamento em blocos ao acaso, com quatro repetições. Combinaram-se quatro velocidades de deslocamento e duas profundidades de deposição do adubo. Avaliaram-se a uniformidade de distribuição longitudinal, o porcentual, o índice de velocidade e o tempo médio de emergência de plântulas. Verificou-se que nas velocidades de 3 e 6 km h-1 houve maiores valores porcentuais de espaçamentos aceitáveis e menores de espaçamentos falhos. Na menor profundidade de adubação, observou-se menor número de dias para a emergência das plântulas.
