Public Governance Practices Adopted by Public Federal Administration in Brazil

This article aims to analyze the practices of public governance adopted by the Brazilian Federal Public Sector (BFPS). A quantitative approach was used, of the descriptive type, made possible through the application of a descriptive statistical technique on the database, resulting from the application of a questionnaire applied in 372 BFPS companies. Among the results, it is worth highlighting the establishment of a board of directors in almost all the organs.However, the other variables studied, which reflects the effectiveness of the administration of these councils, are not adopted or have not reached a level of maturity that allows the organ to perform the management, mainly, of risk, or have not yet identified the need to adopt best practices of governance in the public sphere. Therefore, it was concluded that BGPS public bodies are taking the first steps in adopting good corporate governance practices, but there is still much to be done.Keywords: Corporate Governance, Government Governance, Public Administration, Best Practices.
