Resumo: In this work, a microstrip antenna to operate at the frequency of 5.8 GHz is proposed with arrays of metallic metamaterial cells (MTMs) to improve its performance through field enhancement. For this, a cells array of the Capacitive Loaded Loop (CLL) type is inserted into the substrate of the antenna, being distributed in the form of a matrix of 5 × 7 resonator elements. The antenna array was proposed and analyzed in the 0º and 90º positions. It was verified that the resonator metamaterial elements are responsible for a better performance of the antennas in some parameters in relation to the standard microstrip antenna, that is, there was an increase in the bandwidth of 21.43%, and a lower reflection coefficient in 27.37% in the 0º position. For the 90º position, there was only a 19.24% increase in bandwidth. In addition, it is observed that it is possible to work with lower frequencies due to the wide range of frequencies in the analyzed positions, allowing a reduction in the size of the standard microstrip antenna.

Universidade Federal de Viçosa - UFV2023-02-16info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.ufv.br/jcec/article/view/1531710.18540/jcecvl9iss2pp15317-01eThe Journal of Engineering and Exact Sciences; Vol. 9 No. 2 (2023); 15317-01eThe Journal of Engineering and Exact Sciences; Vol. 9 Núm. 2 (2023); 15317-01eThe Journal of Engineering and Exact Sciences; v. 9 n. 2 (2023); 15317-01e2527-1075reponame:The Journal of Engineering and Exact Sciencesinstname:Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV)instacron:UFVporhttps://periodicos.ufv.br/jcec/article/view/15317/7827Copyright (c) 2023 The Journal of Engineering and Exact Scienceshttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessLima, Adelson MenezesLima, Náthalle Cavalcanti de AlmeidaSilva, Paulo César Linhares da2023-03-30T18:06:21Zoai:ojs.periodicos.ufv.br:article/15317Revistahttp://www.seer.ufv.br/seer/rbeq2/index.php/req2/oai2527-10752527-1075opendoar:2023-03-30T18:06:21The Journal of Engineering and Exact Sciences - Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV)false
