Resumo: This paper aims to reflect on the context of violence against black women in Brazil and to present the high rates of these violations. Considering that women are oppressed in different ways, it’s necessary to discuss gender in terms of class and race. Thus, the research is based on the theoretical assumptions of Sueli Carneiro, Lélia Gonzalez, Djamila Ribeiro and Patrícia Hill Collins. Still, it’s possible to notice a decrease in the deaths of white women, in contrast, black women still have the highest rates of their lives violated. This reality is observed through the analysis of data from the Public Security Forum and the Institute of Applied Economic Research (2020). Given this, it can be understood that the dialogue on gender and racial equality is extremely important to encourage the debate on the protection of Human Rights, and is intended to modify this reality established in Brazil centuries ago.
