University extension: promoting actions to encourage and disseminate reverse logistics in an elementary school in Imperatriz – MA

In Brazil, the National Solid Gaste Policy was established by Law No. 12,305/2010 and regulated by Decree No. 10,936/2022. Current legislation presents reverse logistics (RL) as one of the PNRS instruments to minimize the scenario of excessive generation of solid waste with a view to reducing the impacts caused by inadequate waste disposal. This work applied incentive and dissemination actions for RL at the Frei Manoel Procópio School, Imperatriz - MA. The students were very receptive, showing  interest in the first actions that began the work, resulting in the students; effective participation in the process of selective collection of batteries, batteries and medicines. Investing in environmental education campaigns, through university extension projects,generating knowledge on the topic from a young age, presents an excellent alternative for raising awareness among future generations in defense of sustainability.
