Archaeology in Conservation Areas of the Diamantina Region - MG. The successive occupations of its landscapes and cavities

Resumo: This report intends to present information gathered during the archaeological survey of areas belonging to three state conservation unities located near the town of Diamantina, state of Minas Gerais: State Park of Pico do Itambé, State Park of Rio Pretoand State Park of Biribiri. This study is part of a larger project aiming to provide an environmental zoning and management plan for these areas. The most significant archaeological sites found during the study are described, with emphasis on the archaeological remains. General guidelines devised to protect and assess the significance of the archaeological heritage are also discussed.

Pretende-se ainda descrever e contextualizar sucintamente alguns dos sítios mais significativos identificados em cada Unidade de Conservação (UC), em função da qualidade de seus testemunhos e vestígios neles encontrados.
