No munic?pio de Una?/Minas Gerais um dos maiores problemas ambientais ? o desmatamento de ?reas preservadas de cerrado para inser??o de pastagens e lavouras branca, o que causa efeitos negativos sob a qualidade do solo. Um dos principais indicadores da qualidade do solo ? a mat?ria org?nica, que em seu processo de decomposi??o s?o originadas as subst?ncias h?micas (SH) onde suas fra??es: ?cido h?mico (AH), ?cido f?lvico (AF) e humina (HU) possuem efeitos ben?ficos relatados sob a qualidade do solo e no desenvolvimento de vegetais, e a avalia??o do potencial destes materiais h?micos isolados de diferentes fontes sobre o crescimento e desenvolvimento de plantas t?m sido explorados. De acordo com o exposto, esse trabalho teve como objetivos avaliar a qualidade da mat?ria org?nica de solos oriundos de ?reas de cerrado com diferentes n?veis de preserva??o (preservada e degradada), caracterizar os materiais h?micos extra?dos das distintas ?reas e verificar a atividade biol?gica dos AH e AF sobre a promo??o do crescimento de pl?ntulas de E. contortisiliquum. Os solos foram coletados em ?reas de cerrado distintas em termos de preserva??o, localizadas no Assentamento Curral do Fogo, zona rural do munic?pio de Una?/Minas Gerais. A qualidade da mat?ria org?nica de solos foi obtida por fracionamento qu?mico seguido da obten??o dos valores de carbono de cada fra??o (AH e AF). Os materiais h?micos foram caracterizados atrav?s de m?todos qu?micos e espectrosc?picos, tais como: conte?do de carbono, determina??o da acidez total e espectroscopias nas regi?es ultravioleta-vis?vel e infravermelho. Realizou-se ensaio de concentra??o resposta dos materiais h?micos de solos de ?rea preservada e degradada e ap?s a obten??o das concentra??es ideais, comp?s-se 7 tratamentos (Controle, AH da ?rea preservada, AH da ?rea degradada, AF da ?rea preservada, AF da ?rea degradada, AH+AF da ?rea preservada e AH+AF da ?rea degradada) com novas pl?ntulas para a avalia??o de caracter?sticas morfol?gicas, an?lise da atividade de enzimas antioxidantes, quantifica??o de pigmentos fotossintetizantes e a estimativa da atividade da H+-ATPase. Houve diferen?as com rela??o ? qualidade da mat?ria org?nica, o solo oriundo de mata nativa conferiu melhores qualidades da mat?ria org?nica. Os materiais h?micos possuem caracter?sticas qu?micas diferenciadas, sendo o AH+AF de ?rea preservada o mais humificado e o que apresenta maior atividade biol?gica, ou seja, capaz de modificar as taxas de crescimento, a atividade de enzimas antioxidantes, e o teor de clorofila nas pl?ntulas de E. contortisiliquum. In the municipality of Una?/Minas Gerais, one of the master environmental problems is the deforestation of preserved areas of cerrado for the insertion of pastures and white crops, which causes negative effects under soil quality. One of the main indicators of soil quality is organic matter, which in its process of decomposition are the humic substances (SH) where their fractions: humic acid (HA), fulvic acid (FA) and humin (HU) have beneficial effects reported under soil quality and plant development, and the evaluation of the potential of these humic materials isolated from different sources on plant growth and development have been explored. The objective of this work was to evaluate the organic matter quality of soils from cerrado areas with different levels of preservation (preserved and degraded), to characterize the humic materials extracted from the different areas and to verify the biological activity of AH and AF on the growth promotion of E. contortisiliquum seedlings. The soils were collected in distinct cerrado areas in terms of preservation, located in the Curral do Fogo settlement, in the rural area of the municipality of Una?/Minas Gerais. The soil organic matter quality was obtained by chemical fractionation followed by obtaining the carbon values of each fraction (AH and AF). The humic materials were characterized by chemical and spectroscopic methods, such as: carbon content, determination of total acidity and spectroscopies in the ultraviolet-visible and infrared regions. A concentration response of humic materials from preserved and degraded area soils was obtained, and after obtaining the optimum concentrations, 7 treatments (Control; AH of the preserved area; AH of the degraded area; AF of the preserved area; AF of the degraded area; AH + AF of the preserved area and AH + AF of the degraded area) with new seedlings for the evaluation of morphological characteristics, antioxidant enzyme activity analysis, quantification of photosynthetic pigments and estimation of H+-ATPase activity. There were differences with respect to the quality of the organic matter, the native soil of native forest conferred better qualities of the organic matter. The humic materials have different chemical characteristics, the AH + AF of the preserved area being the most humid and the one with the highest biological activity, that is, capable of modifying the growth rates, the activity of antioxidant enzymes, and the chlorophyll content in the E. contortisiliquum seedlings.
