Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar e comparar a estrutura, a diversidade flor?stica e funcional, bem como os mecanismos de montagem e a din?mica da comunidade arb?rea em fragmentos de Floresta Estacional Decidual. Para cumprir esse objetivo, a presente tese foi estruturada em tr?s artigos cient?ficos. O ?Artigo Cient?fico I? foi referente ? estrutura e flor?stica dos fragmentos. No ?Artigo Cient?fico II? estudou-se os padr?es funcionais das comunidades e os mecanismos de estrutura??o destas. No ?Artigo Cient?fico III? foram analisadas, al?m das taxas de din?mica demogr?fica e em ?rea basal, as mudan?as flor?sticas, estruturais e funcionais dos fragmentos. No geral, foram constatadas diferen?as flor?sticas entre os fragmentos e consequentemente elevada diversidade ?. J?, estruturalmente, estes se revelaram semelhantes. Os fragmentos tiveram a composi??o funcional dominante similar, sendo os atributos caracter?sticos de ambientes secos os de maior import?ncia na manuten??o das comunidades. Por?m tamb?m foram averiguadas diferen?as, as quais foram atribu?das ?s varia??es ambientais de cada ?rea. Ainda foi discutido que na escala do estudo os processos de dispers?o estoc?stica foram os principais mecanismos de montagem das comunidades. Contrariando o esperado, as taxas de din?mica entre as ?reas foram diferentes, entretanto, dentro do que ? observado para as Florestas Estacionais, e estas foram atribu?das, principalmente, ?s peculiaridades ambientais de cada fragmento. As mudan?as estruturais, flor?sticas e funcionais ocorridas no intervalo de tempo avaliado foram n?o significativas, sugerindo que os fragmentos se encontram em relativa estabilidade. De modo geral, os resultados obtidos na presente tese revelam que apesar das semelhan?as encontradas, cada fragmento de Floresta Estacional Decidual ? ?nico em seu compartimento flor?stico e ambiental. Al?m disso, por possu?rem diferen?as na diversidade de suas fun??es, contribuem de maneira distinta para a produtividade ecossist?mica. Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Ci?ncia Florestal, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, 2019.Knowing the floristic, functional and dynamic patterns of a vegetation is fundamental for the creation of conservation plans and sustainable management. This study aimed to evaluate and compare the structure, floristic and functional diversity, as well as the assemblage mechanisms and the dynamics of the tree community in fragments of Deciduous Seasonal Forest. To fulfill this objective, the present thesis was structured in three scientific articles. ?Scientific Article I? referred to the structure and floristic of the fragments. In ?Scientific Article II? the functional patterns of the communities and their structuring mechanisms were studied. Finally, in the ?Scientific Article III?, besides the demographic and basal area rates, the floristic, structural and functional changes of the fragments were analyzed. In general, we found floristic differences between fragments and consequently high ? diversity. Structurally, these were similar. The fragments had similar dominant functional composition, being the characteristic attributes of dry environments the most important in the maintenance of the communities. However, differences were also found, which were attributed to the environmental variations of each area. It was also argued that at the scale of the study the stochastic dispersion processes were the main mechanisms of community assembly. Contrary to expectations, the dynamics rates between areas were different, however, within what is observed for Seasonal Forests. The differences were again attributed mainly to the environmental peculiarities of each fragment. The structural, floristic and functional changes occurred in the evaluated time interval were not significant suggesting that the fragments are in relative stability. In general, the results obtained in the present thesis reveal that despite the similarities found each fragment of Deciduous Seasonal Forest is unique in its floristic and environmental compartment. Moreover, because they have differences in the diversity of their functions, they contribute differently to ecosystem productivity.
