This study was conducted on an eucalypt population belonging to a Minas Gerais state forestry company, with the objective to evaluate technically and economically a harvester machine in different terrain slope and forestry productivity. The technical analysis consisted in the study of times and movements objecting to identify the operational cycle elements of the machine, as well as it s variations due to the terrain and forest productivity. The economical analysis consisted in determining the operational costs. The terrain slope was stratified in flat, wavy and rough and the forest was divided in low, medium and high productivities. The simple casual sample was used in nine different situations related to slope and forest productivity. In each situation were installed plots from witch data related to the trees were collected, allowing to estimate the individual tree volume, the density per hectare and the total wood volume per hectare. Also in each plot was determined the time spent for the harvester to process each plot and calculated it s yield for every situation. According to the results, it s possible to conclude that the machine s yield decreases with the increase of the slope, and increases with the increase of the individual tree volume until a maximum point, from witch it tends to decrease. A statistical model was elaborated do predict the operational yield of the harvester machine contemplating the variables individual tree volume, terrain slope and the total volume per hectare. With this model was possible to estimate the operational yield and consequently the production cost with the harvester machine in different situations, allowing to or not to choose to harvest forest with this machine.
