Resumo: The objectives of this study were to examine whether albumin serum bovine has an effect on the structural function of goat sperm plasma membrane, as well to investigate the potential use of this protein in extenders medium for cryopreservation.Two adult Alpina breed males and two adult Saanen breed males are used, totalizing five semen samples for each one. After collection, the physical characteristics of the semen were evaluated. Then the semen was diluted as follows: BIOXCELL® (Control - T1), BTS (T2), BTS + BSA 5% (T3) and BTS + BSA 15% (T4). After the final dilutions, the progressive motility and sperm vigor were performed for each treatment. The semen was packaged in 025 ml straws were cooled to five degrees for one hour in plastic container containing ethyl alcohol. The pre-freezing was done in liquid nitrogen vapor for 15 minutes. After this period, the straws were immersed in liquid nitrogen. The samples were thawed in a water bath at 37 °C for 30 seconds, packaged in micro tubes and homogenized for immediate analysis of sperm motility and vigor, hypoosmotic swelling test (HOST) and thermoresistence test. In fresh semen, the physical characteristics remained within normal parameters. The average volume correlated negatively with sperm concentration and progressive motility (r = - 0,38 and 0,42 respectively). A positive correlation (r = 0,60) was found between fresh sperm motile and turbulence. The overall averages of motility did not differ among treatments, after thawing at zero and 30 minutes, but differed over the TTR (P < 0.05).The average vigor did not differ in time 30 minutes, but differed between treatments in other times (P<0.05). The strength of the thawed, the control group, showed a negative correlation with the vigor of fresh semen and positive correlation with the motility of frozen-thawed semen (r = - 0.38 and 0.54 respectively). The functional integrity of sperm membrane, evaluated by hypoosmotic swelling test, was different between the control group and the other treatments (P<0.05). There was negative correlation (r = - 0.55) between the turbulence and the HOST of treatment two. In treatment three, positive correlation found between concentration and HOST. It is concluded that: The albumin serum bovine associated with the modified did not affect any of parameters under study.

It is concluded that: The albumin serum bovine associated with the modified did not affect any of parameters under study.Este estudo tem como objetivo verificar se a albumina sérica bovina (BSA) influencia na integridade estrutural da membrana plasmática dos espermatozoides caprinos, bem como verificar o potencial uso desta proteína em meios diluentes de criopreservação de sêmen. Foram utilizados dois machos adultos da raça Alpina e dois machos adultos da raça Saanen. Para as coletas de sêmen foi utilizada vagina artificial onde se obteve cinco ejaculados por animal. Após a coleta, fez-se a avaliação das características macro e microscópicas. Em seguida, o sêmen foi diluído com os seguintes tratamentos : BIOXCELL® (T1), BTS (T2), BTS + BSA 5% (T3) e BTS + BSA 15% (T4). Após as diluições finais, foram avaliados a motilidade progressiva e vigor espermático de cada tratamento. O sêmen foi envasado em palhetas de 0,25mL, as palhetas foram resfriadas a cinco graus celsius, durante uma hora em refil plástico contendo álcool etílico. O pré-congelamento foi realizado em vapor de nitrogênio líquido durante 15 minutos. Após esse período, as palhetas foram imersas no nitrogênio para o congelamento do sêmen. As partidas foram descongeladas em banho-maria a 37 °C por 30 segundos, acondicionadas em microtubos e homogeneizadas para a análise imediata de motilidade e vigor espermático, teste hiposmótico e teste de termorresistência. No sêmen fresco, as características físicas estavam dentro dos parâmetros normais. O volume apresentou correlação negativa com a concentração e com a motilidade progressiva (r = - 0,38 e - 0,42 respectivamente). Houve correlação positiva (r = 0,60) entre o turbilhonamento e a motilidade do sêmen in natura. As médias gerais de motilidade não diferiram entre os tratamentos, logo após o descongelamento nos tempos cinco e 30 minutos, mas diferiram ao longo do TTR (P < 0,05). As médias do vigor não diferiram no tempo 30 minutos, mas diferiram entre os tratamentos nos demais tempos (P<0,05). O vigor do sêmen descongelado, do grupo controle, apresentou correlação negativa com o vigor do sêmen fresco e correlação positiva com a motilidade do sêmen descongelado (r = -0,38 e 0,54 respectivamente). A integridade funcional da membrana espermática, avaliada pelo teste hiposmótico, apresentou diferença entre o grupo controle e os demais tratamentos (P < 0,05). Houve correlação negativa (r = - 0,55) entre o turbilhonamento e o teste hiposmótico do tratamento dois. No tratamento três houve correlação positiva entre a concentração e o hiposmótico.
