The agrarian reform theme in Brazil has gained the spotlight in the last few years in virtue over the aggravation of the land conflicts and also because of the creation of the Rural settlements Projects (PA s). Although what has been done in the name of that has been short for a real change in the structure and in the concentration of land property in the country, the number of PA s has been increasing significantly, bringing for the Brazilian rural space new subjects and inciting economic and social transformations. In this way, it s fundamental to understand how these new territories constitute themselves, from what and whose and what lessons they bring us for the debate about rural development. In this context, this research analyses how the constitution of a PA in the city of Descalvado sets itself as a process of space production with the construction of new ruralities and identities. The general objective was to analyze the process of territorialization the Aurora s rural settlement and the process of the construction of new social identities in this city. It s about a descriptive and explanatory research that uses participative observation, questionnarie and semistructured interviews for data gathering. The results pointed that the settlement was formed from the junction of two processes: one derived from the day-worker s economic exclusion with the advance in cane agribusiness and of the harvest mechanization and other as the result of sociocultural trajectories of the workers who built social reinsertions strategies. So, we consider that the fight for the land in this city is located in a process of unterritorialization and (re)territorialization, where the land achievement compose a field of possibilities of social reproduction of a group and of the (re)creation of spaces.
