Produção e qualidade dos frutos das bananeiras Prata Anã e FHIA-01 tratadas com paclobutrazol

Resumo: The objective of this study was to evaluate the productivity and some quality atributes of fruits from banana trees treated with paclobutrazol (PBZ). The experiment was conducted following 5x2 factorial arrangement in casualized blocks, with eight replications and one plant per experimental unity. Treatments consisted of five doses of PBZ (0.0; 0.5; 1.0; 1.5 and 2.0 g plant-1), applied on soil around Prata Anã and FHIA-01 banana trees four months after they were planted. Data were obtained during the first cicle and the bunchs were harvested when yellow color was observed on the peel of the first fruits. The period between planting and bunch harvesting; pseudostem length; number of active leaves at the moment of inflorescence emission and in harvesting, and productivity were evaluated. After harvesting, the bunch stalk and female rachis length, bunch mass; number of hands; average fruit mass; number of fruits/bunch; diameter; and commercial length of two central fruits of each hand were determined. The hands were weighed immediately after harvest, and the fruits of the second hand were individualized and put in refrigeration chamber at 20oC until ripening. When peel color were totally yellow, pulp firmness (kPa); total soluble solids (oBrix); titratable acidity (% malic acid); and fruit resistence to dropping (N) were evalued. The average cicle was of 507 days, not differing between doses and cultivars. The use of PBZ reduced pseudostem length. Increasing of PBZ doses increased the number of active leaves at inflorescence emission period of Prata Anã , but the effects on bunch were damaging, with reduction of the number of fruits per bunch, of commercial length and diameter of the fruits, which caused reduction of bunch mass and of productivity. On FHIA-01 cultivar, PBZ applied via soil reduced pseudostem length, improved bunch sustentation and increased fruit resistence to dropping, not influencing culture productivity. Through this study, it was possible to conclude that the most indicated doses of PBZ on FHIA-01 banana tree is around 1,0 g of PBZ plant-1.

O experimento foi conduzido seguindo-se o arranjo fatorial 5 x 2 em blocos casualizados, com oito repetições e uma planta por unidade experimental. Os tratamentos foram compostos por cinco doses de PBZ (0,0; 0,5; 1,0; 1,5; e 2,0 g planta-1), aplicadas sobre o solo em torno das bananeiras Prata Anã e FHIA-01 aos quatros meses após o plantio. Os dados foram obtidos durante o primeiro ciclo, colhendo-se os cachos quando foi observada a coloração amarela na casca dos primeiros frutos. Avaliaram-se o período entre o plantio e a colheita dos cachos, o comprimento do pseudocaule, o número de folhas ativas no momento da emissão da inflorescência e na colheita, e a produtividade. Após a colheita, determinaram-se o comprimento do engaço e da ráquis feminina e a massa do cacho, o número de pencas, a massa média dos frutos; o número de frutos/cacho, o diâmetro e o comprimento comercial de dois frutos centrais de cada penca. As pencas foram pesadas logo após a colheita, e os frutos da segunda penca foram individualizados e colocados em câmara de refrigeração a 20 ºC até o amadurecimento. Com a coloração da casca totalmente amarela, os frutos foram analisados quanto à firmeza da polpa (kPa), ao teor de sólidos solúveis totais (ºBrix), à acidez titulável (% ácido málico) e à resistência dos frutos ao despencamento (N). O ciclo médio foi de 507 dias, não diferindo em funçãode doses e cultivares. O uso de PBZ reduziu o porte dos cultivares. O aumento das doses de PBZ aumentou o número de folhas ativas na época da emissão da inflorescência da Prata Anã , mas os efeitos sobre o cacho foram prejudiciais, com redução do número de frutos por cacho, do comprimento comercial e do diâmetro dos frutos, o que provocou redução na massa dos cachos e na produtividade. No cultivar FHIA-01, o PBZ aplicado via solo conferiu redução do porte das plantas, melhor sustentação do cacho e aumento da resistência dos frutos ao despencamento, não influenciando a produtividade da cultura.
