Resumo: | This work had as objectives to evaluate the influence of the species Vetiveria zizanioides, Zoysia japonica, Arachis pintoi and Wedelia trilobata in some biological indicators of the soil quality and to analyze among those species which it presents better vegetable covering and better visual impact in an experimental area. For that two experiments were accomplished and driven in the Department of Physical education of UFV. In the first experiment it was evaluated the potential of vegetable covering and proportionate appearance by each appraised species. It was used an randomized complete block design with five treatments and four replicates. The seedlings were planted spaced of 0.50 m x 1.0 m totaling 20 plants in each plot. The treatments were evaluated with Vetiveria zizanioides, We.elia trilobata, Zoysia japonica, Arachis pintoi and control. The evaluations were done six months after the planting due to a visual observation scale with a questionnaire to evaluate the cover and the appearance of the treatments. The visual observation results were expressed by a scale, 1 being no plant cover and 5 being excellent plant cover. Vetiveria zizanioides had the best result with of score 3.72 referring to plant cover. To evaluate appearance a similar 1 5 scale was used. Vetiveria zizanioides got of score 3.52 meaning good appearance. It can be concluded that the best results were obtained with Vetiveria zizanioides for plant cover and for appearance. In the second experiment were evaluated the influence of the species Vetiveria zizanioides, Wedelia trilobata, Zoysia japonica and Arachis pintoi in some biological indicators of soil quality. The experiment was carried in an area of the Physical Education Department of UFV starting in November 2006. Two experiments were installed with five treatments (Vetiveria zizanioides, Wedelia trilobata, Zoysia japonica, Arachis pintoi and control without plants), in a randomized complete block design with five replicates and the useful area of each plot had 6 m². The seedlings were planted spaced of 0.40 m x 1,0 m totaling 12 plants in each plot. Samples were collected six months after the planting and soil chemistry and microbiological analysis were carried. The study with the plant species, Vetiveria zizanioides, Wedelia trilobata, Zoysia japonica, Arachis pintoi demonstrated that the soil biological indicators need more time between evaluation to show significant responses to the soil changes. |

Para isso foram realizados dois experimentos que foram conduzidos em um talude nas dependências da Universidade Federal de Viçosa Viçosa MG. No primeiro experimento foi avaliado o potencial de cobertura vegetal e aparência proporcionada por cada espécie avaliada. O delineamento experimental adotado foi o de blocos casualizados, com cinco tratamentos e quatro repetições. O plantio das mudas foi realizado usando-se o espaçamento 0,50 m x 1,0 m totalizando 20 plantas por parcela. Como tratamentos foram testadas espécies: Vetiveria zizanioides, Wedelia trilobata, Zoysia japonica, Arachis pintoi e testemunha (sem cobertura). As avaliações foram realizadas 6 meses após o plantio por meio de uma escala de observações visuais, após aplicou-se um questionário em que se avaliou o efeito de cobertura e o aspecto estético dos tratamentos. Os resultados das avaliações visuais foram expressos por meio de escala de notas variando de 1 a 5, no qual 1 corresponde a nenhuma cobertura vegetal e 5 corresponde a uma excelente cobertura vegetal. Foi verificado que Vetiveria zizanioides obteve a maior nota com 3,72 referente a cobertura vegetal. Para avaliação estética usou-se uma escala de notas semelhante, que variou de 1 a 5, a espécie Vetiveria zizanioides obteve a nota 3,52 correspondendo a uma boa aparência. A espécie que se destacou tanto na cobertura vegetal como na aparência estética foi Vetiveria zizanioides. No segundo experimento foi avaliada a influência das espécies Vetiveria zizanioides, Wedelia trilobata, Zoysia japonica e Arachis pintoi em alguns indicadores biológicos do solo. O experimento apresentou cinco tratamentos (Vetiveria zizanioides, Wedelia trilobata, Zoysia japonica, Arachis pintoi e testemunha sem planta), o delineamento utilizado foi em blocos casualizados com cinco repetições e área útil de cada parcela de 6m2. O plantio das mudas foi realizado usando-se o espaçamento 0,40 m x 1,0 m totalizando 12 plantas por parcela. Amostras de solo foram coletadas 6 meses depois do plantio das espécies e foram submetidas a analises químicas e microbiológicas.
