A bioética e as atividades didático-científicas com animais

Resumo: The didactic and scientific activities with the use of animals have represented one of the most controversial dilemmas in bioethics debate. It is an arid landbut worthy of a reflective about the scientific legitimacy and moral stance since these activities working with beings with sentience. Bioethics is the combination of biology with humanistic knowledge constituting a multidisciplinary science and establishing parameters to ensure dignity acceptable animal survival (or not), therefore, with emphasis on teaching and research institutions. Justified therefore the need for recognition of its intrinsic value - biological - as well as rights in the legislative, judicial and legal that mark the relationship of these in Brazilian culture context. This study aimed to: a) provide a theoretical framework in order to support the discussions at the interface between bioethics education and experimentation with nonhuman animals; b) discuss the emerging needs of the downsizing of academic activities whereas other types of content; c) point guidelines for a scientific re-building on this approach while a preciput reach of contemporary education, aiming to expand and maintain the basis of discussions and offer counterpoints to the current approach. The methodology was based on the construction of a theoretical framework (first moment of the survey) and applying questionnaires (discursive and objective) for students and faculty of the Center for Biological and Health Sciences, Federal University of Viçosa, Minas Gerais Health (second time of the survey). For analysis and discussion of the results obtained it was used as instruments Content Analysis and Descriptive Statistics. The results in overall pointed out the need to implement innovative educational practices alternatives and above all the opening space to discuss and to base, critically the counterpoints to the theme tangent. In this sense this paper is concerned with related issues such as animal welfare suffering, reduction and/or be and legislation, so that it takes into account the principles of bioethics at the interface with the modes of scientific production.

Trata-se de um terreno árido, porém merecedor de uma postura reñexiva acerca da legitimidade moral e científica, uma Vez que nessas atividades se trabalha com seres dotados de senciência. A bioética representa a combinação da biologia com conhecimentos humanísticos, constituindo uma ciência multidisciplinar e que, entre outros aspectos, estabelece parâmetros para garantir sobrevivência (ou nã0) dignamente aceitável dos animais, merecendo, portanto, destaque nas instituições de ensino e pesquisa. Justifica-se, portanto, a necessidade do reconhecimento do seu valor intrínseco - biológico -, bem como direitos no contexto normativo, jurídico e legal que marcam a relação destes na cultura brasileira. Objetivou-se, assim: a) Oferecer uma fundamentação teórica Visando subsidiar as discussões na interface entre bioética, ensino e experimentação com animais não humanos; b) discutir as necessidades emergentes do redimensionamento das atividades acadêmícas que utilizam animais vivos, considerando outras tipologias de conteúdo; e c) apontar diretrizes para uma reconstrução científica acerca desta abordagem enquanto um alcance precípuo de uma educação contemporânea, visando ampliar e manter as discussões e ofertar embasamento de contrapontos à abordagem vigente. A metodologia foi pautada na construção de um referencial teórico (primeiro momento da pesquisa) e na aplicação de questionários (discursivo e objetivo) para discentes e docentes do Centro de Ciências Biológicas e da Saúde da Universidade Federal de Viçosa, Minas Gerais (segundo momento da pesquisa). Para a análise e discussão dos resultados Obtidos, utilizaram-se como instrumentos a análise de conteúdo e a estatística descritiva. Os resultados, em geral apontaram a necessidade de implementação de práticas educativas inovadoras, alternativas e, sobretudo, a de abertura de espaço para debater e embasar, criticamente, os contrapontos que tangenciam a temática.
