The cysticercosis cause damage to livestock, besides being a cysticercosis public and health problem, mainly in developing countries. The control of infections should be based in research about prevalence survey of the taeniasis-cysticercosis complex in the target region. In this research was collected bovine and swine blood in 87 farms, stool samples from the population that residing there, determining the prevalence of bovine and swine cysticercosis through the ELISA indirect test that was 1,25% to bovine and 2,1% to swine. The swine and bovine cysticercosis was not found by the Immunoblot test and the taeniasis was not found too. Moreover, a questionnaire was applied about the sanitary conditions of the animals and people envolved, food habits and housing. Data of neurocysticercosis was collected in the Hospital of Divinésia, where patients were evaluated in the period of March 10, 2010 to November 26, 2010, and the neurocysticercosis was not found. Despite the fact the families interviewed have low income, low education, use water without treatment , to have illegal slaugther , the swines are criated arrested, the bovines receives medicines to worm and the population too, the farms use drain system with septic tank, factors that contribute to the control of taeniasis-cysticercosis complex.
