Importance of watershed management and the determination of hydrological processes

Resumo: O acelerado processo de crescimento e desenvolvimento da sociedade tem contribuído com uma intensa degradação do ambiente, em especial dos recursos hídricos. O aumento de superfícies impermeáveis, devido às construções civis e vias asfaltadas; e mudanças do uso do solo, nas quais florestas são transformadas em áreas de pastagem e plantios agrícolas, acarretam em um desequilíbrio do ciclo hidrológico. Desta forma, é de fundamental importância a realização de um manejo adequado da bacia hidrográfica para que haja a manutenção da produtividade e da qualidade da água, bem como para a conservação do crescimento florestal. Assim, o presente trabalho relata a importância do manejo da bacia hidrográfica e da determinação dos processos hidrológicos, tais como precipitação efetiva, escoamento superficial e infiltração.

But the same report encourages a high standard of economic growth and consequently the use of natural resources, which makes the speech contradictory. For the current standard of living and consumer society, where new and questionable "needs" are popping up, does not hold.
