Resumo: The State Park of Itacolomi (PEI) is located in the cities of Ouro Preto and Mariana, state of Minas Gerais, between meridians 43°32 30 and 43°22 30 W and the parallel 20°22 30 and 20°30 00 S, occupying an area of approximately 7,000 ha, composing the south region of the Range Espinhaço. Its vegetation is classified, in its majority, as Rocky Fields, occupying at altitudes above 1200 meters, and this ecosystem is known as a center of endemism for plants. Aiming to contribute to the knowledge of the flora of Rocky Fields and their ecological processes, the lifting of Bromeliaceae and reproductive phenology of species occurring was made in PEI. Thus, collections were monthly realized comprising the period July 2006 to January 2008. The study covered five regions: Laguna Seca, Baú, Pico do itacolomi and Serrinha, and the fertile material were collected according to conventional methodology and deposited in the Herbarium OUPR and VIC. The determination of specific and infra-specific taxa was done through specialized literature, consultations with experts and visits to herbaria. In Rocky Fields of PEI, the family Bromeliaceae is represented by 21 species distributed in 11 genera and three subfamilies: Bromelioideae with Aechmea (3 spp.), Billbergia (2 spp.), Cryptanthus (1 sp.), Neoregelia (1 sp.), Nidularium (1 sp.) in Pseudananas (1 sp.) Pitcairnioideae with Dyckia (2spp.) and Pitcairnia (1sp.); Tillandsioideae with Racinaea (1sp.), Tillandsia (2spp.) and Vriesea (6 spp .). Key for species, descriptions, illustrations, phenologycal and habitat observations, geographical distribution and comments about the taxa are presented. Is also presented a guide illustrated with photos of the species seeking help with the identification of taxa in PEI. The community of bromeliads presented flowering and fruiting continues and sequential. Was observed a positive correlation between flowering and precipitation. Most of the species presented flowering of the type cornucopia and floral characteristics compatible to ornitophilous syndrome. The high representation of Billbergia elegans in the area, associate with the availability of resources for hummingbirds in the dry season, suggesting that it act as "key-species" within the species ornitophilous. During the development of this study, a new species were found showing the importance of local and regional floristic surveys for the taxonomy and conservation of the family.
