Avaliação morfofuncional do testículo e do processo espermatogênico do gato-do-mato-pequeno (Leopardus tigrinus, SCHREBER, 1775) adulto

The study of testicular morphology and the spermatogenic process in wild animals is fundamentally important for the knowledge about the physiologic patterns, by which the assisted reproduction protocols are established. The objectives of this study were to describe morphometry data of testis and seminiferous tubule, quantify and describe the arrangement of the elements in intertubular tissue, and yet to quantify the relationship of population seminiferous epithelium, and index of Sertoli cells of adults oncilla (Leopardus tigrinus). So, testis fragments taken from five adult oncilla proceeding from Cetas-UFV and a conservation breeder center of this species located in Belo Horizonte city. In L. tigrinus studied the average body weight was 2.59 kg, 0.06% of which are allocated in testicular mass, and 0.04% was specifically in seminiferous tubules, that represented 81.29% of parenchyma testis. The average diameter of the seminiferous tubules was 228.29 μm and the average thickness of seminiferous epithelium was 78.86 μm. The oncilla show an average of 16.99 meters of seminiferous tubules per gram of testis. In the intertubular compartment of this species, the volume of Leydig cells and its nuclear average diameter respectively are 765.61μm3 e 7μm. The Leydig cell occupied 0.005% body weight and their average number per gram of testicular were much higher than that observed in most wild carnivorous and domestic animals have had already studied. In seminiferous epithelium of these animals in each cross section of seminiferous tubules in stage I, there was an average of 1.72 spermatogonia type A, 24.04 primary spermatocytes in pre-leptotene, 23.88 primary spermatocytes in pachytene, round spermatids 88.86, 6.73 and Sertoli cells. As the number of rounded spermatids were 3.52, computed to each primary spermatocytes in pachytene, an average loss of 12% were observed in meiotic process. The general yield of spermatogenic process in this species was 51.93 cells. The index of Sertoli cell in oncilla was 21.15 cells of germinative line, of which 13.48 are rounded spermatids.
