Resumo: | The productivity of the passion fruit plant is function of several factors, as genetic potential, pollination, planting date, age of the plants and climatic conditions, among others. However, there still is not a defined pattern for production evaluation in the culture. Some authors evaluate the production starting from given sample, without a defined time and, a lot of times, incurring in mistaken conclusions or committing the success of the improvement programs. In this sense, it was aimed at to establish an evaluation period (monthly), whose production and quality of the fruits was representative of the whole productive period (two years), seeking to optimize the selection strategies and to standardize the evaluation of the plants. The experiment was led in the Experimental Station of Agronomic Institute of Paraná (IAPAR), in the Londrina city, state of Paraná, Brazil. They were appraised 111 accesses of yellow passion fruit plant, coming of the South and Brazilian Southeast, during two consecutive crops. Was considered the variables: Production for plant (P), number of fruits for plant (NF) and weigh medium of fruits (PMF). The data of monthly and annual production were correlated with the accumulated production in two years. The second cycle presented larger correlations with the total production accumulated than the first (little croup), in the three studied variables - P, NF and PMF, indicating that the selection in the 2nd year it can be more efficient. Already in the monthly evaluations, the third month of production (regarding the 1st pull of bloomed) of both years, it presented larger correlations with the accumulated production, for which better representative was observed in the evaluation accomplished in the 3rd month of the second year. The variable PMF presented a pattern relatively uniform, indicating that plant with small fruits they should be eliminated soon in the first evaluations. Starting from the coefficients of correlations calculated, it was made a selection simulation based the 3rd month of production of the 1st and 2nd cycle. It was considered percentile of growing selection, varying between 10 and 50%; for both strategies - selection positive and negative, in order to verify the efficiency in the prediction of superior genotypes or in the elimination of the inferior, respectively. The selection precocious (monthly) for P and NF, it presented larger success percentage in the 2nd year of evaluation. For PMF, the selection negative presented constant pattern when compared the 1st with 2nd year, reinforcing the possibility to discard precociousness the plants with small fruits. |

Porém, ainda não há um padrão definido para avaliação precoce de produção na cultura. Diversos autores avaliam a produção a partir de dados amostrais, sem uma época definida e, muitas vezes, incorrendo em conclusões equivocadas ou comprometendo o sucesso dos programas de melhoramento. Neste sentido, objetivou-se estabelecer um período de avaliação (mensal), cuja produção e qualidade dos frutos fossem representativas de todo o período produtivo (dois anos), visando otimizar as estratégias de seleção e padronizar a avaliação das plantas. O experimento foi conduzido na Estação Experimental de Londrina, do Instituto Agronômico do Paraná (IAPAR). Foram avaliados 111 acessos de maracujazeiro amarelo, provenientes do Sul e Sudeste brasileiro, durante duas safras consecutivas. Considerou-se as variáveis: produção por planta (P), número de frutos por planta (NF) e peso médio de frutos (PMF). Os dados de produção mensal e anual foram correlacionados com a produção acumulada em dois anos. A segunda safra apresentou maiores correlações com a produção total acumulada do que a primeira (safrinha), nas três variáveis estudadas P, NF e PMF, indicando que a seleção no 2º ano pode ser mais eficiente. Já nas avaliações mensais, o terceiro mês de produção (referente ao primeiro surto de floração) de ambos os anos, apresentou maiores correlações com a produção acumulada, para a qual foi observada maior representatividade na avaliação realizada no 3º mês do segundo ano. A variável PMF apresentou padrão relativamente uniforme, indicando que plantas com frutos pequenos devem ser eliminadas logo nas primeiras avaliações. A partir dos coeficientes de correlação calculados, foi feita uma simulação de seleção baseada no 3º mês de produção da 1ª e 2ª safras. Foi considerado percentual de seleção crescente, variando entre 10 e 50%; por ambas as estratégias seleção positiva e negativa, a fim de verificar a acurácia na predição de genótipos superiores ou na eliminação dos inferiores, respectivamente. A seleção precoce (mensal) para P e NF, apresentou maiores percentagem de acerto no 2º ano de avaliação.
