A mudança nos meios de vida das famílias de Pedra Negra atingidas pela construção da Usina Hidrelétrica do Funil

This Work was aimed to understand the change in livelihoods of families from Pedra Negra affected by the construction of the hydroelectric of Funil. The idea was to understand the resources and life strategies driven by these families before and after the construction of the hydroelectric, trying to analyze also the role that compensation programs, in the socioeconomic area, proposed by the consortium AHE Funil, assume within this problematic. From the analysis of the documents relating to the environmental licensing process of the project, the conduction of interviews with a technique employed by the consortium and some people affected by the Dam, as wells as the field work released with the families of Pedra Negra, in Ijaci, Minas Gerais, which had as reference the Situational Analysis in the way proposed by Van Velsen (1987), we analyzed the changes experienced by these families in three main topics: Work, Sociability and Health. By not being able to participate in the process in a more conscious and effective way, the affected community of Pedra Negra ended up being taken by the process . By losing the autonomy over their present, their past and their future, which were handled by the consortium AHE Funil, owner of the resources (natural and cultural, material and symbolic) that served as a means of living for those families, its members suffered the burden of a process that transcends them, also starting to be considered as beneficiaries of the HPP construction, a project that brings the ideal of modernity and progress.
