The present work had as objective to describe the journalist's professional routines that act in the selection of information in the largest vehicles of communication in Minas Gerais state. As organized group, the journalists adopt yours owns approaches for what is newswhorty. The work identifies specific approaches to define the interest for suggestions of list of scientific issues. Besides understanding the process of releases reception on C&T, the work defines the roles of press advisers of the research institutions as qualified mediators of the conflicting relationship between researchers and journalists. To reach these objectives the classic orientation of the survey methodology and the participant observation methodology was used in editorship of newspapers and television stations in the municipal districts of Belo Horizonte and Juiz de Fora. This work concludes that the majority of the guideline's suggestions came from research institutions gets lost in the disorder of the journal compositions that, by your hand, possess enough scientific culture to evaluate if releases about science is newswhorty. While the advisories of press determine to publish results of researches, the editorship journalists are looking for the science easily applicable or in context of common peoples.
