Resumo: O urubu-de-cabeça-amarela (Cathartes burrovianus) é conhecido pelo hábito necrofágico, típico dos Cathartidae. Contudo, membros desta família também caçam presas vivas, embora este comportamento seja pouco documentado. Nós reportamos aqui um C. burrovianus predando a serpente não-peçonhenta, Xenodon merremii, em uma área antropizada no sudeste do Brasil.
