Resumo: Two field testings were carried out in Coimbra, Minas Gerais, in 2009 and 2010, aiming at assessing the effect caused by the application of molybdenum (Mo) mixed up with desiccants on common bean plants in no-tillage system: one on varied brachiaria species and another on corn plant residues. The experimental design consisted of four randomized blocks distributed in a subdivided plot scheme. The plots consisted of five doses of molybdenum (0, 100, 200, 400 and 800 g ha-1) applied simultaneously with the desiccant herbicide (Glyphosate); and the subplots of two doses of molybdenum (0 and 100 g ha-1) supplied through the leaves of the common bean plant. The two corn residue areas had already received the same treatments in 2008. They were reallocated, in 2009 and 2010, to the same subplots, with five lines of bean plants per plot, Red Bean cultivar type, 5 meters long, planted at 0.5 m intervals. Manuring additions of 350 kg ha-1 of the 08-28-16 formula, and 45 kg of N ha-1 as urea, were applied to the soil, and to the leaves, respectively, 25 days after the emerging seedlings appeared. Molybdenum fertilization through the leaves was carried out in stage V4 with sodium molybdate (39% Mo) as the Mo supplier. The Mo application showed no significant result, either in a mixture with the desiccant or through the leaves, on the production components or the SPAD reading of the common bean plant breeding on bracharia species. In 2009, though, the mass of 100 grains (M100G), the grain yield (PG) and the SPAD reading were statistically superior. Mo content in the grains (TMoG) as well as N content (TNG) in the grains and leaves increased after the application of Mo with desiccant or through the leaves in the common bean plant. But in experiments with brachiaria species, the application of Mo mixed up with desiccants, or through the leaves, showed no influence on grain yield on the common bean plant. The Mo content in the leaves also increased with application of micronutrients together with desiccant and applied through the leaves.
