Resumo: | In search of knowledge on production and post-harvest of lisianthus cut flower, two experiments were conducted with the objectives to: i) establish the production cycle and characterize varieties of lisianthus ii) verify the efficiency of preservatives solutions in post-harvest life of lisianthus cut flower. The first was conducted in the greenhouse of the Department of Plant Science, Federal University of Viçosa (MG) in beds with substrate (soil: sand: vermiculite) in the ratio of 6:3:1 (v / v / v). The experimental design was randomized blocks, using four varieties, ABC (white), Bolero (white), Borealis (white) and Echo (pink), in four replications and the experimental unit consisted of six plants. Evaluations were performed at 60 and 90 days after transplanting, at the opening of the first flower and when the stem had two or more open flowers which is considered the point of harvest. Were evaluated characteristics such as: the production cycle, stem height, number of leaves, number of branches, number of flowers, stem and flowers diameters and fresh and dry matter. The second experiment was a completely randomized design, planned in a factorial scheme (4x5) using four varieties of lisianthus ABC, Bolero, Borealis and Echo and 5 preservative solutions, with 5 repetitions. Each replication consisted of one flower stem, placed in a flask containing 200mL of solution. The solutions were applied by pulsing, i.e., immersing the base of the stem for a period of 24 hours. The preservative solutions used were: control; 3% sucrose, 3% sucrose + 2% ethanol; commercial solution and 3% sucrose+ 15% citric acid. The control constituted of water and the commercial product was Flower® (Ecoplanet, SC). The stems were standardized to 70 cm tall, 5 buds and 2 open flowers, and after, were placed in flasks with different solutions. Daily evaluations were carried out on: the amount of absorbed water, the weight of the stems, flowers opening in accordance with the scale of openness, as follows: grade 0 = flower bud and 4 = open flower, SPAD index, quality and longevity of the lisianthus cut flowers. The ABC variety showed a late cycle, but was more efficient with regards to size, stem diameter, leaf production, and fresh and dry matter. Increased production of flowers was found in ABC and Borealis varieties, although the Echo variety produced larger flowers. The solution consisting of 3% sucrose provided stems with greater longevity for all varieties, making it more suitable for post-harvest preservation of lisianthus cut flowers. |

The solution consisting of 3% sucrose provided stems with greater longevity for all varieties, making it more suitable for post-harvest preservation of lisianthus cut flowers.Na busca de conhecimento sobre produção e pós-colheita de lisianthus para flor de corte, foram realizados dois experimentos com objetivos de: i) estabelecer o ciclo produtivo e caracterizar fitotécnicamente variedades de lisianthus; ii) verificar a eficiência de soluções conservantes na vida pós-colheita das hastes florais de lisianthus. O primeiro foi realizado em casa de vegetação do Departamento de Fitotecnia da Universidade Federal de Viçosa (MG) em canteiros com substrato (solo: areia: vermiculita) na proporção de 6:3:1 (v/v/v). O delineamento foi em Blocos casualizados, utilizando-se quatro variedades, ABC (branca), Bolero (branca), Borealis (branca) e Echo (rosa), em quatro repetições, sendo a unidade experimental constituída de seis plantas. Foram realizadas avaliações aos 60 e 90 dias após o transplantio, na abertura da primeira flor e quando a haste apresentava duas ou mais flores abertas, considerada o ponto de colheita. Foram avaliadas as características: ciclo de produção, altura da haste, número de folhas, número de ramificações, número de flores, diâmetros da haste e das flores e matérias fresca e seca. O segundo experimento foi em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, planejado em esquema fatorial (4x5), sendo utilizadas 4 variedades de lisianthus ABC, Bolero, Borealis e Echo e 5 soluções preservativas, com 5 repetições. Cada repetição foi constituída de 1 haste floral, colocada em frasco contendo 200mL de solução. As soluções foram aplicadas na forma de pulsing, ou seja, imersão da base da haste por um período de 24 horas. As soluções preservativas utilizadas foram: controle; sacarose 3%; sacarose 3% + etanol 2%; solução comercial e sacarose 3% + ácido cítrico 15%. A solução controle foi constituída de água e a comercial pelo produto Flower® (Ecoplanet,SC). As hastes foram padronizadas com 70 cm de altura, 5 botões e 2 flores abertas, e após, foram colocadas em vasos com as diferentes soluções. Diariamente foram avaliados: o volume de água absorvida, o peso das hastes, abertura de flores de acordo com escala de abertura, sendo: nota 0 = flor em botão, e 4 = flor aberta, índice SPAD, qualidade das hastes e longevidade das inflorescências. A variedade ABC mostrou-se mais tardia, mas foi mais eficiente quanto ao porte, diâmetro da haste, produção de folhas e de matérias fresca e seca. Maior produção de flores foi constatada nas variedades ABC e Borealis, embora a variedade Echo tenha produzido flores maiores.
