Crescimento de cultivares de manjericão (Ocimum basilicum L.) cultivadas em vasos

Resumo: The objective of this study is to verify the behavior and growth parameters of four cultivars of basil. The seeds were bought locally and grown in pots with the following measures: 11.8 cm diameter x 8.6 cm diameter x 9.0 cm high, in a greenhouse with regular cultivation. The treatments were a combination of four cultivars of basil and five stages of evaluation, with a 4x5 factorial arrangement, in a completely randomized design with three replications. Each experimental unit consisted of ten plants. The cultivars used were: Anão (Dwarf); Folha Larga (Broad-leaf); Grecco and Roxo (Purple). The stage of evaluation was determined by equidistant intervals of 14 days after sowing - DAS (46, 60, 74, 88 and 102 DAS). The following characteristics were evaluated: stem length (CC), biomass (BG), dry mass of leaves (MSF), dry mass of stem (MSC) and dry mass of root (MSR); SPAD; leaf area (AF); leaf area index (IAF); specific leaf area (AFE); leaf mass fraction (FMF), stem mass fraction (FMC) and root mass fraction (FMR); net assimilation rate (TAL); growth rate of the cultivation (TCC) and relative rate of cultivation (TCR). The data was subjected to analysis of variance and regression. For the qualitative factor, the averages were compared by the Tukey test at 10% probability. CC, BG, MSF, MSC, MSR, AF, IAF and AFE varied over the cycle with a linear behavior for the four cultivars. For stages 60, 74 and 88 DAS, the Roxo (Purple) cultivar was superior to the others for the CC variable. In average characteristic production of BG, MSF and MSR, the Folha Larga (Broad-leaf) cultivar was superior to the others. For variables SPAD, AF, IAF and AFE the Roxo (Purple) cultivar has the best results, on average. The four varieties of basil have aptitude for potted production. Can be used as ornamentals for the Grecco and Anão cultivars, because they have a shorter length of stem. The Folha Larga and Roxo cultivars showed better potted growth performance than the Anão and Grecco cultivars. The best stages for the exploitation of cultivars in pots are at 60, 74 and 88 days after sowing.

As sementes foram adquiridas no comércio local, cultivadas em vasos com as seguintes medidas: 11,8 cm diâmetro x 8,6 cm diâmetro x 9,0 cm de altura, em casa de vegetação com tratos culturais regulares. Os tratamentos foram constituídos pela combinação de quatro cultivares de manjericão e cinco épocas de avaliação, em arranjo fatorial 4x5, dispostos no delineamento inteiramente casualizado com três repetições. Cada unidade experimental foi constituída por dez plantas. As cultivares utilizadas foram: Anão; Folha Larga; Grecco e Roxo. As épocas de avalição foram determinadas com intervalos equidistantes de 14 dias após a semeadura DAS (46, 60, 74, 88 e 102 DAS). As seguintes características foram avaliadas: comprimento de caule (CC), biomassa (BG), massa da matéria seca de folha (MSF), caule (MSC) e raiz (MSR); SPAD; área foliar (AF); índice de área foliar (IAF); área foliar específica (AFE); fração de massa folha (FMF), caule (FMC) e raiz (FMR); taxa assimilatória líquida (TAL); taxa de crescimento da cultura (TCC) e relativo (TCR). Os dados foram submetidos à análise de variância e de regressão. Para o fator qualitativo, as médias foram comparadas pelo teste de Tukey ao nível de 10% de probabilidade. O CC, BG, MSF, MSC, MSR, AF, IAF e AFE variaram ao longo do ciclo com comportamento linear para as quatro cultivares. Para as épocas 60, 74 e 88 DAS, a cultivar Roxo foi superior às demais para a variável CC. Na característica produção média de BG, MSF e MSR, a cultivar Folha Larga foi superior às demais. Para as variáveis SPAD, AF, IAF e AFE a cultivar Roxo apresenta em média os melhores resultados. As quatro cultivares de manjericão possuem aptidão para produção em vaso. Podem ser usadas como ornamentais as cultivares Anão e Grecco, por apresentarem menor comprimento de caule da planta. As cultivares Folha Larga e Roxo apresentaram melhor desempenho no cultivo em vaso que as cultivares Anão e Grecco.
