Resumo: There were four experiments to evaluate the relationship between methionine plus cystine and lysine (experiment I), threonine and lysine (experiment II) and tryptophan and lysine (experiment III), as well as the lysine requirement (experiment IV), for growing japanese quails with impact on the initial egg production. The first experiment was a completely randomized design with five dietary treatments, 10 replicates and 20 birds per cage, the others were 8 replicates of 20 birds per cage. In all experiments were evaluated the birds performance during the growing and egg production. In experiment I made was a basal diet deficient in methionine plus cystine, made from corn and soybean meal, containing 5.67 g methionine plus cystine / kg, supplemented with 5 levels of DL-methionine (99%), corresponding to the of methionine + cystine and lysine 0.54 (without supplementation); relationship 0.60, 0.66, 0.72 and 0.78. For the growth phase there was a linear increase in weight of birds at 40 days, weight gain at 40 days, feed intake, carcass weight, fat and body protein deposition, intake of methionine plus cystine and birds viability. Quadratic effect was observed for feed conversion and uniformity at 40 days and the feather percentage did not vary with the relationship. During the laying period, there was a linear effect on feed intake and weight gain of birds at 110 days old. For feed conversion per dozen eggs LRP was the best adjusted. For experiment II was formulated a basal diet deficient in threonine, made from corn and soybean meal, containing 6.6 g of threonine / kg, supplemented with 5 levels of L-threonine (98%), corresponding to the relationship between threonine lysine and 0.63 (without supplementation); relationship 0.60, 0.66, 0.72 and 0.78. The relationship between threonine and lysine did not influence the parameters in the growth and egg production phase, except the threonine intake that increased linearly. In Experiment III was made a basal diet, corn and soybean meal, deficient in tryptophan, with 1.48 g digestible tryptophan / kg, supplemented with 5 levels of L-tryptophan (98%), corresponding to the relationship between tryptophan and lysine 0.14 (without supplementation); relationship 0.16, 0.18, 0.20 and 0.22. For birds weight and weight gain until 40 days and feed intake in laying phase LRP was the best adjusted. For feed intake, feed conversion and birds viability in the growth phase, was quadratic effect. During the laying period was quadratic effect on egg production per bird housed in one day, egg weight, gain weight at 110 days and feed conversion per egg mass. The tryptophan use and egg production per bird housed in the laying varied linearly. In experiment IV was formulated a basal diet deficient in lysine, made from corn and soybean meal, containing 200.6 g crude protein / kg, 12.14 MJ / kg and 8.8 g lysine / kg, supplemented with L -lysine (78.4%), corresponding to the levels of lysine 8.8 g / kg (no L-lysine supplementation), 9.8 g / kg, 10.8 g / kg, 11.8 g / kg and 12.8 g / kg. For weight and weight gain of birds at 40 days old, carcass weight, feed conversion per dozen eggs and egg production per hen housed the LRP was the best adjusted. Utilizou-se em todos os experimentos delineamento inteiramente casualizado, no experimento I foram 5 tratamentos dietéticos, 10 repetições e 20 aves por gaiola e nos demais experimentos foram 8 repetições com 20 aves por gaiola. Avaliou-se o desempenho das aves nas fases de crescimento e de postura. No experimento I foi formulada uma ração basal, deficiente em metionina + cistina, a base de milho e farelo de soja, contendo 5,67 g metionina + cistina digestível/kg, suplementada com 5 níveis de DL- metionina (99%), correspondente às relações entre metionina + cistina e lisina de 0,54; 0,60; 0,66; 0,72 e 0,78. Observou-se aumento linear para peso e ganho de peso aos 40 dias, consumo de ração, peso de carcaça, deposição de gordura e de proteína corporal, consumo de metionina + cistina e para viabilidade das aves. Efeito quadrático foi observado para conversão alimentar e uniformidade aos 40 dias e a porcentagem de penas não variou com as relações. Na fase de postura, ocorreu efeito linear para consumo de ração e ganho de peso das aves aos 110 dias de idade. Para conversão alimentar por dúzia de ovos o LRP foi o que melhor se ajustou. Para o experimento II foi formulada uma ração basal, deficiente em treonina, a base de milho e farelo de soja, contendo 6,6 g de treonina digestível/kg, suplementada com 5 níveis de L- treonina (98%), correspondente às relações entre treonina e lisina de 0,63; 0,60; 0,66; 0,72 e 0,78. As relações treonina digestível e lisina digestível não influenciaram os parâmetros na fase de crescimento e postura, com exceção do consumo de treonina que aumentou de forma linear. No experimento III foi formulada uma ração basal, deficiente em triptofano, com 1,48 g de triptofano digestível/kg, suplementada com 5 níveis de Ltriptofano (98%), correspondente às relações entre triptofano e lisina de 0,14; 0,16; 0,18; 0,20 e 0,22. Para peso e o ganho de peso das aves até os 40 dias e o consumo de ração na fase de postura o LRP foi o que melhor se ajustou. Para consumo de ração, conversão alimentar e viabilidade das aves na fase de crescimento, houve efeito quadrático. Na fase de postura foi observado efeito quadrático para produção de ovos por ave alojada com 1 dia, peso de ovos, ganho em peso aos 110 dias e conversão alimentar por massa de ovos. O consumo de triptofano e a produção de ovos por ave alojada na fase de postura variaram de forma linear. No experimento IV foi formulada uma ração basal, deficiente em lisina digestível, a base de milho e farelo de soja, contendo 200,6 g de proteína bruta/kg, 12,14 MJ/kg, e 8,8 g lisina digestível/kg, suplementada com L-lisina HCl (78,4%), correspondendo aos níveis de lisina digestível de 8,8 g/kg (sem suplementação de L-lisina), 9,8 g/kg, 10,8 g/kg, 11,8 g/kg e 12,8 g/kg. Para peso e ganho de peso das aves aos 40 dias de idade, peso de carcaça, conversão alimentar por dúzia de ovos e a produção de ovos por ave alojada o LRP foi que melhor se ajustou. Na fase de crescimento ocorreu efeito linear para porcentagem de pena, deposição de gordura na carcaça, deposição de proteína bruta na carcaça, consumo de ração e consumo de lisina. Na fase de postura o efeito linear foi para a produção de ovos por ave ao dia, massa de ovos, ganho de peso das aves até os 100 dias de idade e conversão alimentar por massa de ovos.
