Resumo: The aimed of this work was to evaluate the potentiality of vegetal species in remediation of contaminated soils with the herbicides sulfentrazone and picloram, through phytoremediation process, as well as, the influence of these herbicides in the variables associated to photosynthetic activity of these species. For that, were conducted four experiments in greenhouse. In the first, was evaluated the effects of herbicide sulfentrazone on characteristics associated to photosynthetic activity of species Helianthus annus, Canavalia ensiformis, Dolichos lab lab and Arachis hypogaea; in second, was evaluated the potential of these same species in soil remediation contaminated by sulfentrazone; in the third, was evaluated the effects of herbicide picloram on characteristics associated to photosynthetic activity of species Brachiaria brizantha, Brachiaria decumbens, Eleusine coracana and Zea mays; and in fourth, was evaluated the potential of these same species in soil remediation contaminated by picloram. For soil contaminated with sulfentrazone, was found that the variables associated with photosynthetic activity of the studied species may be affected. However, the dry matter accumulation of these species was not compromised, independently of herbicide concentration in the soil, demonstrating the tolerance of species to sulfentrazone. H. annus showed the best capacity of remediation of contaminated soil with this herbicide. For soil contaminated with picloram, was found that Z. mays was less affected by this herbicide, based on physiological attributes. Was found also that B. brizantha, B. decumbens, E. coracana and Z. mays showed potential remediation of contaminated soil by picloram, however, B. decumbens, E. coracana and B. brizantha were more efficient than Z. mays.

Para isso foram conduzidos quatro experimentos em casa de vegetação. No primeiro, avaliou-se os efeitos do herbicida sulfentrazone sobre as características associadas à atividade fotossintética das espécies Helianthus annus, Canavalia ensiformis, Dolichos lab lab e Arachis hypogaea; no segundo, o potencial dessas mesmas espécies vegetais na remediação de solo contaminado com sulfentrazone; no terceiro, os efeitos do herbicida picloram sobre as características associadas à atividade fotossintética das espécies Brachiaria brizantha, Brachiaria decumbens, Eleusine coracana e Zea mays; e, no quarto o potencial dessas mesmas espécies vegetais na remediação de solo contaminado com picloram. Para o solo contaminado com sulfentrazone, constatou-se que as variáveis associadas à atividade fotossintética das espécies estudadas podem ser afetadas. Todavia, o acúmulo de matéria seca da parte aérea dessas espécies não foi comprometido, independentemente de sua concentração no solo, comprovando a tolerância das espécies ao sulfentrazone. H. annus é a espécie que apresenta melhor capacidade de remediação de solo contaminado com esse herbicida. Para o solo contaminado com picloram, constatou-se que Z. mays foi a espécie menos afetada por esse herbicida, com base nos atributos fisiológicos.
