Resumo: | Analysis of the results achieved in Piauí in Basic Education from the monitoring of the implementation of the National Education Plan, considering - in addition to the coronavirus disease (covid-19) pandemic -, the context of the advance of the ultra-right and the framework of inequalities and poverty in the State. The research was developed from documental and bibliographical analysis and as a result it was verified unequal performances between the municipalities, some with satisfactory indicators and atypical cases of prominence, while the majority presents performance below the goals, signaling to significant setbacks in Basic Education, which indicates major challenges towards ensuring rights and reducing inequalities. |

La investigación se desarrolló a partir del análisis documental y bibliográfico y como resultado se verificó desempeños desiguales entre los municipios, algunos con indicadores satisfactorios y casos atípicos de destaque, mientras que la mayoría presenta desempeños por debajo de las metas, señalando retrocesos significativos en la Educación Básica, que indica grandes desafíos para garantizar los derechos y reducir las desigualdades.O presente artigo objetivou analisar os resultados alcançados no Piauí na Educação Básica a partir do monitoramento do Plano Nacional de Educação (2014-2024), tomando como problema o alcance das metas previstas no contexto de avanço da ultradireita e do quadro de desigualdades do Estado. A metodologia de pesquisa envolveu análise documental e bibliográfica.
