School dropout, poverty and starvation: biography of a neglected youth

Resumo: The objective is to biograph a young homeless man in his relationship with the experiences of school dropout, starvation and poverty. With theoretical support from cultural history of the present time, a scientific study was carried out using the methodology of biographical oral history. The oral narratives of the young person showed a family in a situation of extreme poverty, the experience of parental abandonment, child labor, school dropout after late entry into formal education and drug addiction. These aspects culminated in the break of parental ties, starvation and homelessness. The immediacy of hunger and the absence of public intervention policies made it impossible to establish a plan striving for a better future.

Teóricamente basado en la historia cultural del tiempo presente, se realizó un estudio científico mediante una metodología de la historia oral biográfica. Las narrativas orales del joven evidenciaron una familia en situación de extrema pobreza, la vivencia del abandono parental, el trabajo infantil, la evasión escolar tras el ingreso tardío en la educación formal y la drogacción. Esos aspectos resultaron en el rompimiento de los vínculos parentales, en el hambre y en la vida en situación de calle. El inmediatismo del hambre y la ausencia de políticas públicas interventivas impossibilitaban la constitución de un plan con vistas a un futuro mejor.Objetiva-se biografar um jovem em situação de rua na sua relação com as vivências de abandono escolar, fome e pobreza. Amparada teoricamente na história cultural do tempo presente, realizou-se um estudo científico por meio da metodologia da história oral biográfica. As narrativas orais do jovem evidenciaram uma família em situação de extrema pobreza, a vivência do abandono parental, o trabalho infantil, a evasão escolar após o ingresso tardio na educação formal e a drogadição. Esses aspectos culminaram no rompimento de vínculos parentais, na fome e na vida em situação de rua.
