The Exploration of the environment in Brazil and indigenous peoples: For an intercultural and collective understanding of human rights

Resumo: This study aims to discuss the emerging need for a reinterpretation of human rights in the 21st century and the right to self-determination of indigenous peoples in the face of agricultural expansion and exploration of the environment that occurs in Brazil, originating from the application of specific neoliberal policies. The imperative of deepening the study of an intercultural vision for an adequate critical understanding of this phenomenon will be addressed, demonstrating the insufficiency of the current conception of human rights, which most serves to support a neoliberal policy of reducing the State in the regulatory and inspection activity of the environment for the benefit of economic development than for the adequate protection of human rights (especially social and cultural) of the rights of indigenous peoples.

Se abordará el imperativo de profundizar en el estudio de una visión intercultural para una adecuada comprensión crítica de este fenómeno, demostrando la insuficiencia de la concepción actual de los derechos humanos, que más sirve para sustentar una política neoliberal de reducción del Estado en la actividad reguladora e inspectora del medio ambiente. en beneficio del desarrollo económico que para la adecuada protección de los derechos humanos (especialmente sociales y culturales) de los derechos de los pueblos indígenas.O presente estudo objetiva discutir a emergente necessidade de uma releitura dos direitos humanos no século XXI e do direito à autodeterminação dos povos indígenas frente à expansão agrícola e exploração do meio ambiente que ocorre no Brasil, originária da aplicação de políticas neoliberais específicas.
