Resumo: Ideophones in Brazilian indigenous languages have been little explored in linguistic studies. Kamaiurá (2015) identified in a single report by Kayani Kamayurá about the origin of Kwarýp, 50 ideophones. In this paper, we deepen the analysis of the ideophones found in Kayani Kamayurá's report by dividing them into two main semantic sets: (a) imitative or onomatopoeic ideophones and (b) ideophones expressing kinesthetic sound symbolism, inspired by Kaufman (1994:66). In addition to the semantic analysis of ideophones in Kamayurá, we present observations on their respective phonological and morphological forms, and on the combination of ideophones in utterances.
