Resumo: This article aims to analyze the formation of party-political elites in Paraíba, following the rupture of the oligarchic-coronelista system and and the events of 1930, and to understand how these political groups behaved during the periods that followed until 1950. In order to understand this process, we elucidated the functioning of the networks of influence in Paraíba, as well as understanding the importance of political personalism in maintaining power. In turn, the political elites of Paraíba appropriated the spaces of public power, to guarantee their survival in the political game and to obtain political and economic benefits. Therefore, the article will seek to investigate how these power structures were established and maintained over time, highlighting the dynamics of political-party relations and the mechanisms used by elites to maintain their dominance within the state apparatus.

Para entender esse processo, elucidamos o funcionamento das redes de influência na Paraíba, assim como a compreensão a importância do personalismo político na manutenção do poder. Por seu turno, as elites políticas da Paraíba se apropriaram dos espaços do poder público, para garantir sua sobrevivência no jogo político e para obter benefícios políticos e econômicos.
