A report of the práxis of AJUP Roberto Lyra Filho (UnB) in its first year of existence

Resumo: The AJUP Roberto Lyra Filho was created in 2012 at the University of Brasilia with the objective of strengthening the struggles of popular movements in brazilian Federal District and region with three types of articulated activities: popular education on human rights; popular legal assistance; and political mobilization in support of the demandsindicated by the popular movements. Despite all the difficulties to implement the proposal and the short time since its creation, the practice developed by the project with the movements of housing struggle, rural landless workers and pickers of recyclable materials already brought much advances in relation to classic debates in the Popular Legal Advisory. This article aims to reflect on this insurgent practice, pointing out the achievements, difficulties and challenges to the continuing struggle for human rights in brazilian Federal District and surrounding region.

Apesar de todas as dificuldades de implementação da proposta e do pouco tempo transcorrido desde sua criação, a práxis desenvolvida pelo projeto junto aos movimentos de luta por moradia, de trabalhadores/as rurais sem terra e das/os catadoras/es de materiais recicláveis já trouxe diversos avanços em relação a debates clássicos dentro da Assessoria Jurídica Popular.
