Resumo: This article aims to discuss and analyze how the Sociology of the Legal Professions can contribute to the purpose of breaking with the normative-dogmatic idealization, still predominant in teaching and research in law, contributing to the production of an insurgent, critical and interdisciplinary thinking in the legal field. After proposing a discussion on the Sociology of Legal Professions in Brazil, the article presents a possible dialogue between this theoretical field and Law critical studies in order to apprehend the possible contributions of the former to non-traditional theoretical aspects that seek to re-signify and historicize law. To this end, the focus will be on a specific legal-political occupation: the cause lawyering.

Após propor uma discussão sobre a Sociologia das Profissões Jurídicas no Brasil, o artigo apresenta um diálogo possível entre este campo teórico e os estudos críticos do direito, a fim de apreender as possíveis contribuições daquela às vertentes teóricas não tradicionais que buscam ressignificar e historicizar o direito.
