This paper aims to analyze how the Xingu Lives Forever Movement, a collective of social movements and environmentalists who struggle for another development model for the Amazon, which included the non-construction of Belo Monte, established networks and equivalence relations between the demands which works. For this, it is firstly presented a bibliographical review on what social movements are, starting with the analysis of what Laclau (1983) understood by equivalence relations, and later about the Amazon and Belo Monte Dam, in order to study how the theory applies in the practice of the movement. It is concluded that the movement defines relations of equivalence between its struggles for the need to fight against a common enemy.
