The anti-asylum struggle goes on! Problematizations about the judiciary asylum in the Brazilian’s Psychiatric Reform perspective

The hegemonic mental health care model to people with mental disorders authors of crime centered in the judicial asylum has been favoring a custodial assistance, accentuating the chronification of these people and producing violations of human rights. Based on literature review and documentary analysis, this article discusses the transformations in Brazil’s mental health policy through the achievements of the Anti-asylum Movement; it highlights the challenges surrounding the criminal legal discourse in the Field of mental health; and presents the norms regarding there orientation of the policy of attention to these people, from the perspective of the Psychiatric Reform. It intends to contribute to the debates in the Field of guaranteeing the rights of this social group, especially outside the judicial asylum.
