Reflections in the environment of audiovisual translation: Interview with Claudia Moreno

Resumo: As we are interested in discussing subjects related to Audiovisual Translation (AVT), a field that is sometimes ignored in academia, but still appeals to fans of this art and is increasingly motivating professionals, we share this interview with Mexican translator Claudia Moreno, known for her significant experience in this universe. The very first contact with the interviewee resulted from the postdoctoral experience of one of the authors of this publication ”” Leandra Cristina de Oliveira, Ph.D ”” in a country of great importance in the Hispanic ATV industry: Mexico. At the suggestion of Erik Daniel Franco Trujillo, Ph.D, from the Center for Linguistic and Literary Studies of El Colegio de México (CELL/COLMEX), where the academic visit took place, we interviewed Claudia Moreno and talked about diverse subjects, such as her professional career, her experiences in projects of different languages-cultures, the relationship between theory and practice in Translation, the industry, conflicts, challenges, and linguistic decisions, among other subjects.  The time she spent with us is detailed in the text below.

El primer contacto con la entrevistada surge de la experiencia posdoctoral de una de las autoras de esta publicación ”” Profa. Dra. Leandra Cristina de Oliveira ”” en un país de importancia reconocida en la industria de la TAV hispánica: México. Con la indicación del Prof. Dr. Erik Daniel Franco Trujillo, del Centro de Estudios Lingüísticos y Literarios de El Colegio de México (CELL/COLMEX), donde se realizaba la estancia académica, entrevistamos a Claudia Moreno y platicamos ”” como dicen los mexicanos ”” sobre temas diversos, tales como: su trayectoria profesional, sus experiencias en proyectos de distintas lenguas-culturas, la relación entre las teorías y la práctica en Traducción, la industria, los conflictos, retos y decisiones lingüísticas, entre otros. El tiempo que a nosotras dedicó la profesional va plasmado en el texto a continuación.  Interessadas em debater questões vinculadas à tradução audiovisual (TAV) ”” um campo às vezes ignorado no universo acadêmico, mas que atrai entusiastas dessa arte e que aciona cada vez mais a profissionais -, socializamos esta entrevista com a tradutora mexicana Claudia Moreno, por sua destacada experiência em tal universo. O primeiro contato com a entrevistada surge no contexto de estágio pós-doutoral de uma das autoras desta publicação ”” Profa. Dra. Leandra Cristina de Oliveira ”” em um país de importância reconhecida na indústria de TAV hispânica: México. Com a indicação do Prof. Dr. Erik Daniel Franco Trujillo, do Centro de Estudios Lingüísticos y Literarios de El Colegio de México (CELL/COLMEX), no qual se realizava a referida experiência acadêmica, entrevistamos a Claudia Moreno e tratamos sobre temas diversos, tais como: sua trajetória profissional, suas experiências em projetos de distintas línguas-culturas, a relação entre as teorias e a prática em Tradução, a indústria, os conflitos, desafios e decisões linguísticas, entre outros.
