This article intends to examine the popular dance of Catira as an expression of adjustment to the natural, mental and social environments, in the rural region of the northern part of the state of Goiás, Brazil. The solidarity for corporative work in neighboring rural core can be expressed in cultural manifestations like these, according to the ecologicalinguistic concept of communion. Our purpose is to investigate this rural dance through bibliographic examination, searching for comprehension of this dance in the different cultural ecosystems of the micro-region of northeastern Goiás. Ecolinguistics, a discipline that studies the relations between language and environment, will be the theoretic support. The observation in loco will be of fundamental importance for an ethnographic investigation too. The interactions in the context are intense and diverse, including verbal and non-verbal components in a rich ecological composition of language.
