Resumo: This article explores discursivities present in the so-called post-truth era. To do so, it examines divergent epistemic contexts of truth production, which also produce truth as a value for science and democracy. In these contexts of truth and value production there is a dispute for legitimacy and power that is related to metaphysics producing discourses of visibility and invisibility, which operate as means of effecting truth. Based on ethnographic research carried out in Northern Mozambique, it is observed that the State immanently coexists with the politics of the invisible world, through the discourse of sorcery. Thus, I propose to establish an analogy between different dynamics of operation with the occult coming from both the discourse of sorcery and the negationist and conspiratorial discourses, present in Brazilian politics and in the world, as have been demonstrated by current ethnographic and political studies.
